Zinhle Jiyane is a mother, a businesswoman and a successful DJ. Probably best known to you as DJ Zinhle, she stepped onto the South African DJ scene at a time when the industry was still very much a man’s world and has beaten the odds to become successful and respected.
These days Zinhle has achieved a lot. She is widely recognised as one of the best female house DJs in SA. She’s been a DJ and speaker at the Southern African Music Conference for four years in a row; she was nominated by the Mail & Guardian as one of 300 young people “you have to take to lunch” which recognizes young South Africans who are making a difference in their respective careers and she has recently entered the television world in acting roles and as a TV presenter. She is also the founder of Era by DJ Zinhle and FUSE Academy for girls.
DJ Zinhle has travelled all over the world, making people dance in Malaysia, Miami, Washington, Namibia, Swaziland, Algeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Namibia, Indiana, London and many more.
DJ Zinhle will be taking to the stage at the Working Mothers Expo in a different way. She’ll be talking on the topic ‘What I love about being a Working Mother’ because ‘In reality, all moms are working moms, and all moms are deserving of respect and support.’ We couldn’t agree more! See her on Saturday 5 November at 3pm.
