Everything Working Mothers Need

Join Marlene Naiker at the Working Mothers Expo

August 11, 2016 By janice.windt@gmail.com

Marlene NaikerYou might recognise Marlene Naiker from Mrs South Africa. As the second princess, her picture has been splashed across newspapers and magazines. Marlene is much more than just a pretty face, however, and she’s got some great advice for working moms on how to juggle all our roles and maybe even look good while we do it! She describes her 10-year-old son Ryan as the ‘light of her life’ and manages to work in a high powered environment whilst also raising him alongside her husband, Eugene.

Marlene Naiker is a well-known speaker. She is particularly passionate about learning how to balance your career and your children, having spoken about it at various events. She has a bachelors and honours degree in Psychology, both from Wits. She has an extensive background in HR, having worked in the field for over ten years. She always enjoyed the coaching and counselling aspects while working with a variety of professional organisations, and in May, decided to start her own consulting services business. She focuses on pageant coaching and mentoring, event management, life coaching and social media management.

Marlene combines her corporate savvy with a love for good deeds and charity by serving as a board member on the not-for-profit organisation Babies Behind Bars, where she assists in fundraising, packing days and collecting baby goods for women who are raising children in prison. She is also heavily involved with CANSA, and has recently been appointed as a Lets Play Ambassador in conjunction with Supersport.

You can catch Marlene Naiker’s talk on “Work Life Integration: How We Juggle it All as Working Moms” at 9am on Saturday 5 November at the Working Mothers Expo.  You can also visit her on Facebook here.

The Working Mothers Expo, brought to you in partnership with MiWayLife, brings together everything working mothers need under one roof. 4-6 November 2016. Sandton Convention Centre. Meet our MCs, Elana Afrika and Claire Mawisa, at the Speakers Corner.

If you would like to inquire about sponsoring or exhibiting at the event, please email us and we will send you all the details you need.

You Lose Guilt Fairy! – Guest Post by Megan Townshend

She’s everywhere and we do not like her! The Guilt Fairy first made her appearance 2 years ago when my daughter Charlie was born. She then decided to hang around, still uninvited, until Jamie was born 18 months later. Now it seems she has taken up permanent residence in my home, at my office, in…

Why Your Kids Will Need Therapy

Why Your Kids Will Need Therapy

My eldest son once screamed so loudly and for so long during a tantrum that I told him I was going to call the Police. I then got my phone and pretended to dial.  He absolutely believed I was speaking to them.  He was three at the time.  Our kids will need therapy. Three years later…
